Percutaneous Screw Fixation for Scaphoid Fractures.
Treatment of nondisplaced scaphoid waist fractures has evolved from conventional cast immobilization to percutaneous screw insertion. This study assessed clinical and radiologic outcomes of volar percutaneous screw fixation for 15 type B2 scaphoid fractures (according to the Herbert and Fisher classification). All patients were followed for an average of 33 months (range, 6-50 months). All frac...

BACKGROUND The objective of this study is to investigate the outcomes and safety of using percutaneous anterior C1/2 transarticular screw fixation as a salvage technique for odontoid fracture if percutaneous odontoid screw fixation fails. METHODS Fifteen in 108 odontoid fracture patients (planned to be treated by percutaneous anterior odontoid screw fixation) were failed to introduce satisfac...
متن کاملSingle Incision Percutaneous Pedicle Screw Fixation for Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion
OBJECTIVE Percutaneous pedicle screw fixation (PPSF) offers some of the advantages of minimally invasive surgery. However, an additional skin incision is necessary in order to gain these advantages. The author recently performed a modified PPSF through a single skin incision and it yielded good results. Here, we report the single incision percutaneous pedicle screw fixation (SIPPSF). METHODS ...
متن کاملAtlanto-axial fusion with transarticular screw fixation.
We reviewed 161 patients, from four centres in Switzerland, who had undergone posterior fusion of the upper cervical spine with transarticular screw fixation of the atlanto-axial joints. They were followed up for a mean 24.6 months. The vertebral artery and the medulla escaped injury and only 5.9% of the complications were directly related to the screws. The rate of pseudarthrosis was 0.6%.
متن کاملTechnique, challenges and indications for percutaneous pedicle screw fixation.
Minimally invasive techniques in spinal surgery are increasing in popularity due to numerous potential advantages, including reduced length of stay, blood loss and requirements for post-operative analgesia as well as earlier return to work. This review discusses guidelines for safe implantation of percutaneous pedicle screws using an image intensifier technique. As indications for percutaneous ...
